To Qualify For Mot Insurance

The vehicle must have 90 days of its current MOT remaining or 90 days from its first MOT.

Cover will only be valid for 30 days prior or after the due MOT date.

Vehicles up to 100,000 miles / 10 years old at inception.

Items covered

Lighting equipment: all external lamps, reflectors, headlamp aim, hazard warning & indicator lamps & control, fog lamp on/off indicator.

Steering & suspension: steering control, steering mechanism & system, power steering, transmission shafts, wheel bearings, front & rear suspension, shock absorbers, track rod ends, springs, wishbones, swivel joints, suspension mountings, sub frames.

Brakes: master cylinder, wheel cylinders, callipers, discs/drums, load compensators, ABS modulator/sensors, ECU, hoses & cables.

Seats & seat belts: seats, seat belts, pre-tensioners & seat belt mountings.

General: carburetor, fuel injection, engine management unit & sensor replacement directly as a result of calibration failure to meet MOT standards, horn, speedo, speed limiter, wipers & washers (excluding blades/rubbers), tuning & adjustment only to meet MOT emissions standards.

Maximum amount payable for MOT insurance is £750.00 Inc VAT

The first £10.00 of any claim will form the basis of an excess payable by the policy holder.

What is not covered: includes advisory items, damage caused by a road traffic accident, defective wheel alignment or wheel balance, corrosion, items subject to a recall & the MOT test or retest. A full list is available on page 24 of the policy book.
